Once you "use" polyurea, you may never use a material with poor versatility and poor resilience, even though the cost is significantly different. (Compared with other polymer coatings, polyurea tends to be more expensive than other products on the market, but this cost can usually be offset by saving time, labor and related downtime.
The installation temperature range is wider. The misunderstanding of some clients is that concrete coating work is a summer project. This is true for epoxy coatings with temperatures above 50°F. As we enter winter, for many of us, this temperature range will become a fond memory of spring outdoor projects. The installation temperature of polyurea ranges from below 30 degrees Celsius to above 100 degrees Celsius. Your customers don't have to worry about choosing the right time of the year, and installers don't need to worry about temperature-controlled environments or seasonal restrictions.
Higher flexibility and maintenance-free life. Both polyurea and polyurethane can be firmly bonded to concrete, while polyurethane has weak adhesion-it needs to be recoated every 4-7 years. (Polyurethane and polyurea are flexible, but polyurea does not need to be replaced every few years). Although polyurethane has a strong adhesive force, it is easily carried away by hot tire adhesion, making it less suitable for use in garage floors and other common commercial and industrial applications. Polyurethane requires some maintenance, while polyurea is basically maintenance-free. When discussing costs with customers, you should not only point out the material and installation costs, but also the ongoing maintenance costs... For polyurea, this is a very attractive zero.
Reduce VOC to get better air quality. In today's era of environmental awareness-more and more customers are vying to become "green" customers. When working in your team, reducing VOC (volatile organic compound) odor and breathing is no small consideration. Compared with polyurethane and epoxy resin, polyurea has the lowest volatile organic compound content and has no peculiar smell during curing.
Better durability: resistance to chemicals and ultraviolet rays. Both polyurea and polyurethane have high oil resistance. Polyurea also has chemical resistance and scratch resistance. Both polyurethane and polyurea can be used for exterior applications. In these applications, exposure to ultraviolet light is a problem, but polyurea is superior to polyurethane in terms of UV protection. (Ultraviolet rays will eventually cause yellowing or degradation of coatings with lower corrosion resistance).
