What is foam coating
Foam coating is to add a foaming agent (usually a surfactant) to a higher concentration of finishing working fluid and then use foaming equipment to mix it with air. A processing technology that forms a certain quality of foam, and then uniformly applies the foam to the surface of the fabric through a foam applicator. The surface of the fabric is coated with a foam adhesive layer, and the coating film layer is used to produce flame retardant, anti-fouling and other properties, and the fabric has a unique style, feel and appearance, and has good air permeability and low cost.
Foam coating has many advantages, such as saving dyeing chemicals, energy saving, and reducing processing costs, and the coating is uniform, and the coating amount is easy to control; in addition, when the coating is processed on the back of the fabric, the coating is affected by tiny air bubbles. The liquid has a thickening effect, which can prevent the coating liquid from penetrating the front of the base fabric and affect the appearance of the fabric, and at the same time make the foam coated fabric have a softer feel. Single-sided or double-sided processing can be performed on heavy fabrics and surface structure fabrics.
Three Key Indicators:
The stability of the foam directly determines the quality of the foam. The ideal stable foam should be that when the foam contacts the fiber, it can burst by itself immediately. The time interval from when the foam comes into contact with the fibers to when it enters the fibers is very short. In this process, the finishing agent foam is never allowed to suspend on the surface of the fabric. If the stabilization time is too short, the foam will rupture prematurely, which will easily cause uneven wetting of the fabric in lumps and strips, which will cause color difference; if the stabilization time is too long, the foam on the fabric will not burst quickly and uniformly, which will also cause color difference.
It requires that the foam generated by the foam generator should be as consistent in size as possible. Only in this way. The foam can evenly disperse the carried dyestuffs on the surface of the fabric to form a uniform finishing effect.
The foam acts as a carrier. The thickness of the foam wall and the size of the foam directly affect the foam's ability to carry dyes. Generally, the diameter of the foam is about 8μm.
