Adhesive refers to a material that has good bonding properties and can form a film on the surface of two objects and firmly bond them together. It is generally prepared by the combined distribution of binding substances, curing agents, toughening agents, fillers, diluents and modifiers.
Adhesives are classified according to their uses and can be roughly divided into:
Structural adhesives (bonding of components with strong force)
Non-structural adhesives (no need to bear strong parts of the components)
Special adhesives (such as high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance, electrical, thermal, magnetic, sealing, water adhesive, etc.)
Adhesives are classified according to the curing method;
Water-based adhesives (PVAc and copolymer emulsions, VAE emulsions, polypropylene emulsions)
Hot melt adhesive (EVA resin, synthetic rubber)
Solvent type station viscose (polypropylene resin, neoprene rubber, SBS)
Reactive adhesives (organic silica gel, acrylic glue, anaerobic glue, epoxy resin, polyurethane)
Other adhesives (other adhesives)
Adhesives are classified according to their chemical composition:
Organic silicone adhesive (silicone composition with bonding and sealing functions)
Epoxy resin (prepared from epoxy resin base material, curing agent, diluent, accelerator and filler)
Acrylic (adhesive with co-polyacrylate as the unit or main component)
Polyurethanes (adhesives containing urethane and/or isocyanate groups in the molecular chain)
Synthetic rubber (synthetic adhesive made with synthetic rubber as base material)
Polyvinyl acetate (a kind of thermoplastic glue obtained by polymerization reaction of vinyl acetate monomer)
Adhesive industry chain
Upstream: raw materials for chemical materials
Midstream: Adhesive manufacturer
Downstream: construction, automobiles, wood products, packaging products, shoemaking, new energy, etc.
At present, the global adhesive market demand has an average annual growth rate of more than 3%. Among them, the average annual growth rate of the North American and Western European markets is about 2.2% and 1.9%, respectively, while the average annual growth rate of emerging markets in China is more than 12%. They have seized the opportunity to shift their focus eastward.
Adhesives are developing rapidly downstream. The rapid development of emerging economies represented by the BRIC countries has brought about rapid growth in the demand for adhesives, and the adhesive industry in India, Brazil and the Middle East has developed rapidly.
As the concept of protecting the environment and cherishing resources becomes more and more popular, the environmentally friendly characteristics of adhesives such as high solid content, solvent-free, water-based, light curing, etc. will receive more and more attention. High-performance environmentally friendly adhesives have become the new favorite of the market, environmentally friendly and energy-saving Products (solvent-free, high solid content, water-based, light-curing, low-temperature curing, hot-melt and hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesives, etc.) will become mainstream, and adhesive production and demand will show a diversified trend.
At present, my country's adhesives are mainly used in packaging, construction, wood processing, new energy, and shoemaking industries. From the perspective of demand distribution, the construction industry, packaging industry and wood processing are the main application markets for my country's adhesives.
