Oil storage tank
The storage tank can be made of fiberglass and has a maximum capacity of about 300 tons. Smaller tanks can be made by casting shredded felt pads on a thermoplastic inner tank, which acts as a preform during the construction process. Use woven felt or filament-wound fibers to make a more reliable storage tank, the fiber orientation of which is at right angles to the hoop stress exerted by the contents on the sidewall. Because plastic linings (usually polypropylene) are resistant to various corrosive chemicals, such tanks are often used for chemical storage. Fiberglass is also used in septic tanks.

Fiberglass reinforced plastics are also used in the production of house building components, such as roof laminates, door frames, door frame skylights, door and window skylights and skylights, chimneys, roof systems, and door heads with trapezoids and thresholds. Compared with wood or metal, the material is lighter in weight and easy to handle, which can speed up installation. Mass-produced glass fiber brick effect panels can be used in the structure of composite houses and can include insulation materials to reduce heat loss.
Due to its RF permeability and low signal attenuation characteristics, glass fiber is also used in radomes in the telecommunications industry. It can also be used to hide other equipment that does not require signal penetration, such as equipment cabinets and steel support structures, because it is easy to form and paint to blend with existing structures and surfaces. Other uses include sheet-like electrical insulators and structural components commonly found in power industry products.
Due to the lightness and durability of glass fiber, it is usually used in protective equipment such as helmets. Many sports use fiberglass protective equipment, such as goalkeeper masks and catcher masks.
Oil and gas artificial lift system
In the application of sucker rods, fiberglass rods are often used due to their high tensile strength to weight ratio. At a given weight, fiberglass rods have an advantage over steel rods because they have greater elasticity (lower Young's modulus) than steel, which means that more oil can be removed from the carbon per stroke. The hydrogen compound reservoir is lifted to the ground while reducing the load unit of the pump.
However, the glass fiber rod must be kept under tension because the glass fiber rod will often separate even if it receives a small amount of compression. The buoyancy of the rod in the fluid amplifies this trend.
