The flame retardant finishing of cotton fabric develops rapidly and is relatively mature in China at present. The flame retardant agent can basically be industrialized to produce the durable flame retardant finishing of pure cotton. There are generally three methods as follows:
Temporary and semi-durable flame retardant finish of pure cotton -- the flame retardant finish of electric blanket, wall cloth, sand cloth and other fabrics is not very high. This kind of products can be temporary or semi-durable flame retardant finish.It can be washed 1 ~ 15 times with warm water, but it can not be washed with soap.There are mainly borax ~ boric acid process, ammonium hydrogen phosphate process, phosphorous amine process, dicyandiamide process and so on.The above - mentioned technology is not used in the industrial production of pure cotton fabric.SFR-203 from Qingdao University Textile and Clothing College is a semi-durable flame retardant finishing agent.
Flame retardant finishing of wool fabric
Wool has higher moisture regain and ammonia content, so it has better natural flame retardancy. However, if higher standards are required, flame retardancy finishing is needed.The earliest wool flame-retardant finishing is impregnated with borax and boric acid solution, which is used for decorative cloth on aircraft.This method has good flame retardant effect, but it is not washable.After 1960s, THPC treatment was adopted, which had better washable resistance, but the process was complicated and the feel was rough, and the character of wool fabric was lost.International Wool Bureau research method is to use titanium, zirconium and hydroxy acid complex to finish wool fabric, obtain satisfactory flame retardant effect, and does not affect the feel of wool, so it is widely used.Mainly titanium, zirconium, tungsten and other metal complexing agent.Since the late 1980s, several domestic units have researched and developed flame retardants and finishing technology for wool, and obtained satisfactory results.Tianjin Institute of Synthetic Materials developed composite WFR-866 series flame retardants, one is WFR-866F (with fluorine complex as the main component), the other is WFR-866B (with brominated hydroxy acid as the main component).Tianjin Renli Woolen Mill, Beijing Woolen Mill and Beijing Woolen Mill all use Lu flame retardant to treat fine and coarse textile products.School of Textile and Clothing of Qingdao University developed SFW series of flame retardants for wool and developed pure wool flame retardant products in cooperation with Jining Wool Mill and Weifang No.2 Wool Mill. The flame retardant properties of the products reached or exceeded the level of similar products at home and abroad.
Pure wool flame retardant fabric is mainly used in carpets, curtains and wall laminating materials, such as aircraft cabin and high-class hotels.
